- 1B Mike Ford: 2-5, 1 2B, 1 RBI — 11-for-26 (.423) with a double and four home runs in six games so far … this is his third straight year at Triple-A, remember
- SS Thairo Estrada: 0-5, 1 K

- LHP Nestor Cortes: 7 IP, 3 H, 1 R, 1 ER, 2 BB, 5 K, 6/4 GB/FB — 50 of 79 pitches were strikes (63%), plus he picked two runners off first … this dude is going to keep getting jobs the next 12 years because he’s left-handed and dominates in Triple-A
- RHP Jake Barrett: 0.2 IP, 3 H, 2 R, 2 ER, 0 BB, 1 K, 1/0 GB/FB — 13 of 19 pitches were strikes (69%)
Double-A Trenton Thunder (5-2 loss to Akron)
- SS Hoy Jun Park: 0-4, 1 BB, 1 K
- 1B Brandon Wagner: 1-5, 1 K — 2-for-20 on the young season
- LF Ben Ruta: 2-4, 1 K — 8-for-22 (.364) with four walks and four strikeouts
- CF Rashad Crawford: 0-3, 1 R, 1 BB, 1 SB

- RHP Nick Green: 4.1 IP, 4 H, 1 R, 1 ER, 1 BB, 7 K, 4/0 GB/FB — 44 of 60 pitches were strikes (73%) … seven strikeouts is greatly preferable to seven runs allowed like last week
High-A Tampa Tarpons (4-3 loss to St. Lucie)
- SS Diego Castillo: 0-4 — now 0-for-25 on the season … only three strikeouts though, eventually something will go for a hit (I think)
- CF Pablo Olivares: 1-4, 1 K
- 3B Oswaldo Cabrera: 0-4, 2 K, 1 E (throwing) — first hitless game of the season
- DH Isiah Gilliam: 1-4, 1 R, 1 K
- RHP Clarke Schmidt: 3.2 IP, 5 H, 3 R, 2 ER, 5 BB, 3 K, 3/1 GB/FB — 32 of 64 pitches were strikes (50%) … great first start, not so great second start … it happens

Low-A Charleston RiverDogs (5-3 win over Asheville)
- LF Brandon Lockridge: 2-4, 1 R, 2 2B, 2 BB, 1 K
- CF Josh Stowers: 1-5, 1 K — got picked off first … went hitless on Opening Day, but he has a hit in every game since
- C Josh Beaux: 2-4, 2 R, 1 2B, 2 RBI, 1 BB, 1 K — missed the last five games with an unknown injury, but obviously it couldn’t have been anything serious if he’s back already … probably catching related bumps and bruises
- 2B Kyle Gray: 1-4, 1 R, 1 BB, 1 K
- RF Canaan Smith: 0-3, 1 BB, 1 K — just up from Extended Spring Training
- RHP Roansy Contreras: 5 IP, 6 H, 2 R, 2 ER, 2 BB, 3 K, 1 WP, 3/2 GB/FB — 42 of 67 pitches were strikes (63%) … big Roansy fan here, I love this guy
- RHP Shawn Semple: 4 IP, 3 H, 1 R, 1 ER, 0 BB, 11 K, 1 HR, 1/0 GB/FB — 51 of 74 pitches were strikes (69%) … 21/1 K/BB in nine innings for the 2017 11th rounder … I won’t a “small Semple size” joke again, I promise
The Short Season Staten Island Yankees, Rookie Pulaski Yankees, and two Rookie Gulf Coast League Yankees teams begin play in June.
